What is a trusted buddy?
A trusted buddy is someone you trust (one to three people) who activates your account at the right moment. Buddies never see the content of your messages — they just give the go-ahead.
What happens if I don't respond to a sign of life?
You'll get a friendly reminder first. If you still don't respond, Bruidswarenhuis asks your trusted buddies to confirm what's going on. Only after their confirmation is your account activated.
Is Bruidswarenhuis free?
You start for free, with no credit card. With Premium you get unlimited messages, video recordings, more storage and the digital vault.
How does Bruidswarenhuis know when to deliver a message?
You choose the moment per message: right at activation, on a fixed date or at an occasion. Bruidswarenhuis keeps track of that moment and delivers your message on time — not sooner, not later.
Do my data always stay mine?
Yes. You download all your data as a ZIP file at any time (Settings → "Download all your data"), and each contact has a backup key that you can keep or deposit with a notary. Should Bruidswarenhuis ever stop, a fixed procedure applies with at least 6 months' notice so nothing is lost.
