Exactly your voice, exactly your character
Your voice is cloned from your recordings in two levels. The standard voice sounds like your voice but differs — good enough to experience your AI Clone with, and ready quickly. The professional voice captures timbre, pace and intonation and is indistinguishable from real. And your character talks the way you do: with your expressions, your opinions and your real memories. When your granddaughter asks later about that camping trip in France, she hears the story the way *you* told it.
Not everyone wants to hear the voice — that's why there's the narrator
For some bereaved, their loved one's own voice is exactly what they need. For others it's too soon, or too much. That's why everyone who talks with your AI Clone can switch with one click to the narrator: a calm, neutral voice that tells *about* you instead of speaking *for* you. Your loved ones simply ask their questions — "how did you meet each other?" — and get answers from your own stories, only in the third person. The same memories, a gentler form. You can switch in the middle of a conversation, back and forth, and the choice is always the listener's. The narrator is included with your voice, works without voice cloning and can also be chosen alone if you'd prefer not to make a voice clone at all.
Honest, safe and under your control
You decide who gets to talk with your AI Clone — only after activating your account. Your loved ones always see clearly that it's an AI memory, and choose for themselves whether they want it. Your recordings stay private and you can delete everything at any time. The first minutes are free to try.
Your voice cannot be misused
A cloned voice is sensitive — that's why we've deliberately locked it down. Your AI Clone only speaks his own answers and never reads texts: if someone asks "say…", he calmly explains that he doesn't do that, precisely to prevent fraud. It's also technically impossible — the voice service refuses every sentence that doesn't come from your AI Clone itself. And your voice only becomes available 72 hours *after* activation, so an unintended activation can be noticed first.

How does Bruidswarenhuis create an AI clone of my voice?
You record an extensive life interview (147 questions plus unlimited personal stories). From those recordings your voice is cloned — timbre, tempo and intonation — and the system learns your character and memories.
Will my loved ones know they're talking to an AI?
Yes, always. The conversation is clearly recognizable as an AI memory and your loved ones choose for themselves whether they want to use it. Only the people you designate get access, only after your account is activated.
Can someone misuse my voice for fraud?
No. Your AI Clone only speaks its own answers and never repeats text that someone feeds it — if you ask "say this…" or "repeat that", it explains that it deliberately won't do that to prevent misuse. That boundary is built into both the AI and the technology: the voice service refuses any sentence that doesn't come from your AI Clone itself. On top of that, your voice only becomes available 72 hours after your account is activated — if an account were ever accidentally activated while you're still alive, there's time to notice that before a voice is heard anywhere. If you want someone to talk to your AI Clone while you're still alive, that's only possible after you've separately and explicitly given permission.
What is the narrator, and why does it exist?
The narrator is a neutral voice that tells your story instead of speaking as you, based on the same stories. It exists because grief works differently for everyone: one person finds it a gift to hear their own voice again, another finds that too confronting — especially shortly after a loss. Anyone talking to your AI Clone can therefore choose for themselves, with one click, even in the middle of a conversation, and always switch back. You simply ask the narrator questions and get answers; only the form differs.
Do I need to have a voice clone made for the narrator?
No. The narrator works without a voice clone: it uses a neutral male or female voice. So you can choose it even if you'd rather not have a clone of your voice at all. If you do buy a standard voice or professional voice, the narrator is included.
Can I hear what the narrator sounds like?
Yes, for free. Once your character profile is built, you can listen to it and have a ten-minute conversation with it, at no cost. Even if you already have a voice clone, you can switch back and forth between your own voice and the narrator in your own test conversation, so you hear both the way your loved ones will hear them.
Can I delete my AI Clone?
Yes, at any time. All your recordings, transcripts, your character profile and the voice pairing will then be permanently deleted.
Can I update my AI Clone later?
Yes — as long as you're alive you can keep adding to it: record new stories, improve answers and enrich your voice. After your account is activated, your AI Clone stays exactly as you left it.
Do my recordings stay mine — even if Bruidswarenhuis were to stop?
Yes. Via Settings → "Download all your data" you can export all your interview recordings and transcripts at any time: the source material with which your voice was built. One thing we'll be honest about: the trained voice model itself sits with the specialized voice service and cannot be handed over — but the recordings it was built from can be, so the voice could be rebuilt elsewhere. And if Bruidswarenhuis ever stops, a procedure laid out in our general terms applies with at least 6 months' notice.
